By accessing or using the services provided via www.doconcall.ie, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional policies referenced herein.

References to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to doconcall.ie, operated in the Republic of Ireland. References to “you” or “your” refer to the user, patient, or member of the Platform.

We have taken reasonable care in the development and presentation of this website. However, errors may occur, and we accept no liability for such errors to the fullest extent permitted by law. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Regulatory Status & Governing Law

The Platform operates in accordance with Irish law and applicable EU legislation.

All healthcare professionals providing services via doconcall.ie:

  • Are registered with their relevant Irish regulatory bodies
  • Practice in accordance with Irish Medical Council (IMC) guidance

These Terms are governed by Irish law, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

3. Nature of the Platform

doconcall.ie is an online healthcare platform facilitating access to non-emergency telemedicine services, including:

  • Video consultations
  • Telephone consultations
  • Prescription services
  • Medical certificates
  • Referral letters
  • Health plans and test kits (where applicable)

doconcall.ie:

  • Acts as a facilitating platform and billing agent
  • Does not provide emergency services
  • Does not replace your GP or hospital care

Healthcare professionals act as independent practitioners and are solely responsible for clinical decisions.

4. Eligibility, Residency & Declarations

By using doconcall.ie, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years or older, or a legal guardian acting for a minor
  • You are resident in the Republic of Ireland
  • You are registering only for yourself
  • All information you provide is true, accurate, and complete
  • You will keep your login credentials confidential

Separate Appointments Per Patient

Each appointment booked via doconcall.ie is valid for one patient only.

A separate appointment must be booked for each individual patient, including family members or dependants. Medical prescriptions and consultations cannot be shared, combined, or transferred between patients.

We reserve the right to verify identity at any time.

5. Medical Emergencies

doconcall.ie must not be used for acute emergencies.

Call 112 or 999 immediately if you or someone else experiences:

  • Chest pain
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Major burns or wounds
  • Severe trauma
  • Fall
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Stroke or heart-attack symptoms
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Acute confusion or seizures

6. Online Consultations

6.1 Booking & Access

  • Consultations must be pre-booked
  • Payment is required in advance
  • Confirmation is issued by email once payment is received
  • Consultations are conducted via secure video or telephone where appropriate

6.2 Technical Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • Adequate internet connection
  • Functional camera and microphone
  • Privacy and confidentiality
  • Punctual attendance

Failure to meet these requirements does not entitle you to a refund.

6.3 Attendance

  • Providers may open the consultation room up to 5 minutes early
  • A 15-minute grace period applies
  • Failure to attend within this time results in termination of the appointment without refund

7. Minors

  • Patients under 18 may only be consulted with parental or legal guardian consent
  • A parent or guardian must be present during the consultation
  • Mental health assessments for patients under 18 are not provided

8. Clinical Responsibility & Patient Obligations

You agree to:

  • Provide complete and accurate medical information
  • Disclose all the relevant symptoms, allergies, history, and medications
  • Follow medical advice as provided
  • Inform your GP of treatments or prescriptions issued
  • Report adverse reactions promptly

Clinical decisions are based solely on the information you provide prior to and during the consultation.

doconcall.ie accepts no liability where harm arises from incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information supplied by you.

9. Limitations of Online Care

Due to the absence of physical examination, we cannot safely manage certain conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Emergency conditions
  • Chest pain or severe shortness of breath
  • Pregnancy-related issues
  • Breast or testicular lumps
  • Ear pain, discharge, or hearing loss
  • Eye pain or Visual problems
  • Major Burns or Wounds
  • Severe headaches or neurological symptoms
  • UTIs in children, males, or pregnant women
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections
  • Infants under 1 year with fever over 38°C
  • Certain mental health conditions (especially under 18s)

If care cannot be safely provided online, this will be explained and you will be advised to seek appropriate in-person care from your GP or Emergency Department.

10. Medications & Prescriptions

10.1 General Rules

  • Prescriptions are issued solely at the doctor’s discretion
  • A consultation does not guarantee a prescription
  • Prescriptions are sent only to pharmacies in the Republic of Ireland
  • Medications are for personal use only and must not be shared

10.2 Restricted / Excluded Medications

We do not prescribe:

  • Controlled drugs
  • Antidepressants
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Opioids
  • ADHD medications
  • Sleep aids
  • Hypnotics
  • Drugs requiring close monitoring
  • Long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs)

This list is non-exhaustive.

10.3 Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions require a new consultation or approved prescription request.

A doctor may request evidence of prior prescription or previous use of the requested medication (such as a copy of a recent prescription, pharmacy record, or medical letter) before issuing any repeat prescription.

Failure to provide satisfactory evidence may result in the prescription being declined or a recommendation for an in-person consultation.

Issuance of any repeat prescription remains entirely at the doctor’s clinical discretion.

12. Sick Notes & Medical Certificates

  • Not backdated except in exceptional circumstances
  • Extensions or additional sick notes cannot be issued based solely on a prior consultation or previously reported symptoms
  • Any extension requires a new clinical assessment and may require a new consultation
  • Maximum duration: 7 days
  • Free if requested during or within 36 hours of consultation
  • €10 fee applies thereafter
  • Employer sick notes do not include diagnoses

13. Payments

  • All prices are displayed in advance
  • Payment is taken in full at the time of booking
  • You authorize the use of the payment method provided

14. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refunds

Patient Cancellation

  • Free cancellation 48 hours or more before consultation
  • No refund within 48 hours
  • Non-attendance results in no refund

Provider Cancellation

  • You may reschedule or receive a full refund

Refund Processing

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Processing time: 1–10 working days

Cooling-Off Period

By purchasing consultation services, you acknowledge that services begin immediately and you waive the statutory 14-day cooling-off period, except where refunds are expressly permitted.

15. User Behavior Policy

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in:

  • Immediate termination
  • Removal from the Platform
  • No entitlement to a refund

16. Identity Verification

We reserve the right to request photo identification at any time.

Failure to provide valid ID may result in cancellation without refund.

17. User-Generated Content

By submitting content, you grant doconcall.ie a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it for service delivery and promotion, subject to data protection laws.

Content must not be illegal, misleading, abusive, or offensive.

18. Intellectual Property

All website content is the property of doconcall.ie.

You may not reproduce or use content for commercial purposes without a written permission.

19. Liability & Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Services are provided “as is”
  • We are not liable for inaccurate information provided by users
  • We are not responsible for third-party websites or services
  • Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or statutory rights

20. Open Disclosure

doconcall.ie is committed to open and honest communication where unintended harm occurs, in line with Irish open disclosure principles. Apologies do not constitute admissions of liability.

21. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access due to:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Safety concerns
  • Legal or regulatory requirements
  • Fraud or misuse

You may terminate your account at any time.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time.
